Unternehmensüberblick / Kernkompetenz
Ruffer is a privately-owned investment management firm. We currently manage over £22 billion ($30.8 billion) for pension funds, charities, companies and private clients, and employ over 260 people, with offices in London, Edinburgh and Hong Kong. Institutional clients account for £13.6 billion ($19.5 billion) of Ruffer’s assets under management. We have a single investment strategy that has followed the same tried and tested investment approach since the firm started in 1994.
At Ruffer, our aim is to deliver positive returns, regardless of how the financial markets perform. We are multi-asset absolute-return investors, with two investment objectives
–not to lose money in any rolling twelve-month period
–to grow funds at a higher rate than would be achieved by depositing them in cash
Our investment philosophy and approach have been unchanged since the firm started in 1994 and, over the past 22 years, we have broadly achieved our investment objectives, delivering returns ahead of cash as well as generating stronger and more stable returns than those from other commonly-followed pension fund benchmarks.
We invest for the long term, seeking to avoid large losses and to harness the power of compounding over time. To that end, we always maintain a balance of offsetting investments within a portfolio. We invest predominantly in conventional assets as part of an investment approach that is conservative, tried and tested.
Fund Description
The investment objective of Ruffer Total Return International (RTRI) is to achieve positive returns with low volatility from an actively managed portfolio. The fund may have exposure to the following asset classes: cash, debt securities of any type (including government and corporate debt), equities and equity-related securities and commodities (including precious metals). Pervading this objective is a fundamental philosophy of capital preservation. This fund was launched in 2011 following demand from international investors for a non-UK domiciled fund that was better suited to their needs. It is a sub-fund of the Luxembourg-based UCITS- compliant Ruffer SICAV.The fund is managed in sterling and offers share classes denominated in various other currencies (Euro, US dollar, Canadian dollar, Swedish krona, Singapore dollar, Swiss franc) which deliver the sterling return hedged back to that currency.
